The lab report should cover the following items:
- A brief description of the general contaminants in wastewater, and the commonly used quality parameters for recycled water;
- Brief descriptions of the analytical methods for the following physical-chemical parameters: pH, electric conductivity (EC)/TDS, turbidity, colour, UV absorbance at 254 nm (UVA254) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC); the instrument employed for each of the analyses in the lab practice should be specified (info can be found from the Week 5 folder)
- A presentation of the analytical results using tables and/or diagrams on the supplied water samples, i.e., the tap water, and the secondary treated municipal wastewater before and after reverse osmosis (RO) based treatment. Note: results should be reported in the form of mean values and their variations, i.e., mean +/- standard deviation of the three measured values of each parameter.
- A brief discussion of the obtained results, i.e., treatment efficacy of the RO-based reclamation process in terms of removal efficiency for the related water quality parameters; a comparison of the characteristics between the recycled water and the drinking water (from a tap in the laboratory); a discussion of the possibility of using the recycled water for potable reuse.
- Concluding remarks.
