• Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in the creativity and innovation and include access to:

  • workplace documents
  • case studies and, where possible, real situations
  • office equipment and resources
  • interaction with others.

  Application of skills and knowledge is required to be demonstrated to provide evidence of competency. You are required to create and submit a portfolio of assessment. Some of which can be any documents created within this and other units.

  Completed the following tasks and provide evidence of completion as part of your portfolio.

• 1. Demonstrate how to innovate by including it in leadership and management activities.
  2. Build relationships based on mutual respect and trust including evidence of positively accept ideas from others and offer constructive feedback.
  3. Take a calculated risk to provide opportunities for innovation - provide evidence of a presentation of ideas and concepts to a range of audiences using structure and language to suit the audience
  4. Evaluate your own approaches to innovation to ensure it matches the objectives of the organisation or project and look for ways to innovate own work practices.
  5. Identify ways to promote innovation and celebrate successful ideas. provide evidence of meetings that show the use of active listening and questioning to discuss and clarify information and to confirm understanding (consider recording the meeting)
  6. Review the physical work environment supports innovation - this includes evidence of asking colleagues for ideas to enhance the physical environment and assessing how well physical resources or equipment support innovation.
  7. Communicate with staff -
  8. • Encourage and take part in collaborative work/ teamwork including identify ways to signal to colleagues own receptiveness to ideas.
     • Ask employees how work conditions can be amended to encourage innovative work processes and implement their ideas.
     • Identify ways to maximize a team’s opportunities for innovation.
     • Acknowledge a suggestion, improvement or innovative ideas from a colleague.
     • Explain to workers how innovation is aligned to the vision and objectives of the organisation or a project, provide evidence of collectively determining innovative ideas are consistent with the organisation’s or project’s objectives

Establish procedures that:

• foster innovation and build a team’s ability to contribute to innovation
• require workers and managers to thoroughly evaluate innovative ideas require feedback regarding innovative ideas
• encourage consultation
• require respectful communication between colleagues encourage the sharing of ideas
