Chapter 9: Vision
A) Colour vision is an important trait for humans, however not everyone has fully functioning colour vision.
At what part of the retina are colour photoreceptors located? What is the name for these cells?
How are these photoreceptors different in an individual who is colour-deficient (not colour-blind) than in someone with normal colour vision? How does this difference lead to seeing altered colours?
How might someone discover they are colour-deficient? (Briefly describe a test that can be administered to test for colour deficiency, hint: we did this test together in class).
B) Walk through receptive field hierarchy from the retina, to thalamus, to visual cortex in relation to the location of objects in the visual world.

Stare at this image for approximately 30 seconds and then look at a sheet of white paper.
What happens to the flag?
Explain, at the neural level, what you just observed.
