Part 1: Determination of the heat of reaction (deltaH) in solution

Step 1: use the virtual lab to mix the following solutions and record the temperatures. Don't forget to insulate the flask that you use for mixing (right click on the flask, etc.)
Step 2: calculate the amount of heat produced in each of the above reactions and determine the amount of heat, AH, for one mole of reagents. Let's assume that the specific heat (s) of all solutions is s=4.184 J/mol•°C and that the density of all solutions and mixtures is 1 g/ml (these are approximations that may lead to small errors).
Step 3: questions:
1. How can you tell if the experiment is giving consistent results? If the results are different for different mixtures, suggest sources of error or reasons why they might be different.
2. Why does the volume of solution chosen for each experiment make little if any difference to the value of AH?
3. What is the stoichiometry of the reaction between reagent A and reagent B?
