In this Ted Talk, Margaret Heffernan talks about the importance of valuing each and every employee. In the beginning, Heffernan mentions how organizations run on “the superchicken model”, which means that leaders often favor the employees, who are the best in the field. Instead she says that leaders should value each and everyone of their employees. They should always find the best in them and see what they bring to the table. Most importantly, leaders need to make their employees feel that they are being valued and their voice is being heard. Leaders shouldn’t judge or look down on their employees. In addition if everyone succeeds, then the company succeeds.
I really liked this Ted Talk and it did resonate with me. This Ted Talk is really informative and educational for aspiring business leaders. If they want their company to be successful, then they should create an environment where all their employees are appreciated and acknowledged for their work. Employees need to feel that they are needed to help the company go forward and keep on progressing. In conclusion, leaders should take the initiative to always recognize everyone’s work and achievements. Moreover, it is their responsibility to set a good example for aspiring business leaders on how they should treat their employees with respect and dignity regardless of their position or their background.
