The Salton Sea has been shrinking for years. Its negative impacts on the surrounding environment and public health has been a major concern in Southern California.
You are bidding for the qualification to make strategic restoration plans for the State. To compete in the Phase I of this bidding process, you must complete a report including the following information:
1) Based on the water resources data on USGS over the past years (or even decades), predict the annual stream flow, annual precipitation, and annual evapotranspiration rates in 2050.
2) Estimate the size of Salton Sea in 2050. How much smaller (in percentage) will it be comparing with its size today?
3) Propose strategies that will effectively prevent (or at least slow down) the shrinking of Salton Sea.
