1) Software Analysis Report

You have been engaged by CCT to analyse the colleges use of the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) and research Moodle functionality versus the functionality/capabilities of other LMS available in the market. You are aware that Moodle is an example of Open Source software, but you need to research the market alternatives.

Provide a report to CCT Management with:

- An analysis of the existing use of the Moodle LMS;

- Recommendations in relation to Moodle functionality that you have identified but which you believe is not being used by CCT, or not being used to its best advantage. Make sure you explain your recommendations clearly.

- A comparison with AT LEAST TWO other LMS that you have identified. These can be EITHER Open Source OR Proprietary.

In Particular, you MUST:

a) Research Moodle functionality and determine the extent to which CCT uses this functionality at the moment.

b) Critically analyse CCT’s use of Moodle and describe areas where you believe this use is “best practice” (if any) and areas where this use is in need of improvement.

c) Identify functionality that CCT does not currently use, and make a case for why CCT should use this additional functionality.

d) Research other LMS available in the market and determine (as far as possible) the functionality available.

e) Provide a summary as to what you have found, outlining the benefits of using enhanced Moodle functionality for CCT.

f) In your summary, outline the advantages and disadvantages (as you see them) of using an Open Source system vs a proprietary system.

g) Reference ALL sources that you have used. Referencing must follow the Harvard referencing system.

h) WORD COUNT: There is no set word count for this report, however if your report is very brief and shows no indication of having carried out an analysis of the software, then your mark will be low.
