Motivation and Risk
You have good friend whose birthday is coming up. You want to get them a memorable present but are unsure of how to make up your mind on what to get for them. Consider the concept of getting four presents based on the following, which can be easily remembered as North, South, East, and West. West — Want Something they want North — Need Something they may need South — Special Something special East — Else Something else.
Find four products for that special person. Briefly describe the product you would choose for each category and the differences in the choices in purchases between someone you know well and someone else. Add some justification/reasoning why you made that. Explain how you learned to make the decisions and state if the purchase process influenced your behavioral or cognitive learning for future purchases. Use terms to support your reasoning and include a purchase risk for each item. Include an additional reference page.
Part 2
Persuasion Techniques
A leading marketing professor has an online blog and many followers. A recent blog posting by the professor includes the following statement: “Some forms of subliminal persuasion may have the desired effect of influencing consumers.” Write a response, using a minimum of two reference sources, to the professor on whether you agree or disagree with the statement and include it if you believe the use of these techniques are ethical. Write a paper using APA format, citation, and reference style. Include an additional title page and a separate reference page.
