Task 1: Essay
You should be working on this by now, thinking about the ethical or professional issue that you will discuss:
* that you will describe in detail;
* outline the people and the responsibilities of all involved;
* the possible implications of the issue for those involved if the issue is not dealt with or dealt with in an improper manner;
* what the professional standards, codes of ethics, legal and professional responsibilities are in relation to the issue and in relation to each of the people involved;
* what the literature and authors you have read for this course suggest, for each of those involved as to how the issue should be managed and resolved;
* what Christian biblical principles and world view can be applied in the situation and the specific relationships and interactions of those involved and the difference this can make.
1. What ethical or professional issue have you identified?
2. Write a summary outline of the issue? What happened? Who is involved? What is the tension or conflict? What are the implications for each person involved, if the issue is not addressed?
3. What are some approaches or strategies for managing or addressing the conflict/issue. What do the readings so far, have to say about this? (specific quotes and page numbers that you will include as in-text citations?)
4. What are the possible positive or negative impacts or outcomes of the possible strategies for each stakeholder?
5. What rationale do you have for making the final decision as an EC educator? (what policies, professional standards from the readings inform you and support your rationale)?
6. On balance, how will you know that the decision is an ethical and professional decision?
(Consider effective strategies that work based on the readings.)
