You will need to develop an overall set of instructions for the class which defines

For Assessment 2 you are required to build and do an Inquiry Project. The aim of this assessment is to bring together your roles as teachers and researchers.

1. You will need to hand in a developed IP that you could implement in a classroom

You will need to develop an overall set of instructions for the class which defines the ILP and the Assessment that will take place while it is ongoing. To do this you will need to you will need to follow a discipline specific inquiry process (i.e. History, Geography) and research the Inquiry Model (5Es, Walker, Murdoch and so on) you chose. You then need to develop each stage of the ILP: which activities will you have for each stage and how will you do it? You will need to identify or develop the relevant worksheets, lessons or instructions they will need to do the activity. You should pay attention to opportunities for integration with other learning areas, highlight skills development, cross-curriculum priorities and consider the inclusion of a possible social action.

Documents related to this stage:

Rationale: A short overview of the learning intentions of your project, including a discussion of the chosen inquiry model. Discuss: How you have planned the project; What do you want children to understand; Be able to do; Why? (approx. 200 words).

A plan of the Inquiry Learning Stages and related activities You will need to develop each stage of the ILP: which activities will you have for each stage and how will you do it? You will need to indicate teacher planning resources ideas related to each stage: worksheets, workbooks, activities, incursions, excursions, digital technologies, websites, texts, lessons or instructions they will need to do the activity. Please see the template.

Overall set of instructions to the class for the Assessment Piece associated with the IP, including curriculum outcomes.

Rubric to mark the Project Assessment Piece.

2. You will need to hand in a completed IP Assessment Piece

Your IP will result in a final product and whatever you direct the students to do and produce you will produce for the assessment. What that “product” is, is your choice: it could be an essay, voiced powerpoint presentation, short film, workbook, monologue, poem, story, play, art work and so on – but it must be a sustained piece of work and realistic for your year level. You MUST produce the piece and we must be able to see and assess it (i.e. if it is a performance, record it; if it is an artwork,

Photograph the production process and video or photograph the final piece; if it is a voiced powerpoint, make it) using the rubric you have developed.

N.B. if your project piece is produced in a non-standard format then it can be submitted at a further Turnitin point “Project Pieces for A2”.

3) You will need to do Group Presentation on Discussion Board

The presentation of your project can be in written form or a PowerPoint. You could also plan to include photos or a short video of your project.

When presenting your project you must focus on the following elements:

What the key focus is for the Inquiry Project.

What the curriculum focus for the selected year is (e.g. skills development, conceptual development, etc.).

Ensuring your presentation is engaging and clear

4) You will need to Peer Review three projects on Discussion Board

Reference List and Presentation: Min. six (6) References

We will be looking to see how you:

Introduce the Inquiry: provoke questions and help the students to construct a Big Idea.

Help students to generate questions: what process will you use to facilitate.

Guide students in finding and evaluating sources of information to answer questions.

Provide scaffolding and support (e.g. lessons, workshops, note-taking guides).

Provide additional resources and experiences to generate deeper questions.

Help students reflect on the answers they find, and apply their new knowledge to project tasks.

Hint
Accounts & FinanceConcepts involve the grouping together of different entities on the basis of some similarity. It allow one to organize the experience into the coherent patterns and to draw the inferences in situations where the direct experience is absent. It basically also save the mental effort, by allowing to apply the previous knowledge to new situations....
