"First, the car would be pushed so that it gets accelerated and then pulled back, so as to stop it and avoid crashing. 

Let the final speed acquired by it in a time interval  be , as it is pushed.  

Let it covers a distance equal to as it is accelerated by 2m/s 2 

Therefore, v = 6

Hence, the velocity of the car after which I have to start pulling it back will be 6 m/sec

The time interval during which the car is accelerated as it is pushed:

t1 = v / a = 6/2 = 3 sec

The time interval during which the car is decelerated as it was pulled:

t2 = 6/3 = 2 sec

The least time to put the car in the garage = t1 + t2

 = 3 + 2 = 5 sec"
