Assessment Task

This group assessment is broken into 2 parts:

Part 1 - Marketing Mix (8P's) Analysis

Part 2 – Presentation

Your first task is to choose an established business in the SERVICES SECTOR and develop a report that analyses the Marketing Mix ( 8P's) that currently affect this business.

You may use the MIT library to conduct your research: acceptable sources are journal articles, business magazines and business reports. Ensure that when writing your report, you use APA reference style when developing your reference list and citation. 5 academic references must be included for first part of the assessment.

Assessment tasks and requirements

The assessment will be done in 2 different stages:

Assessment Part 1 – Marketing Mix Report

o Using the ‘Business’ you have chosen, establish a suitable marketing mix (revamping of a current product or a new product launch)for your business.

o You may select a product sector or service sector organisation.

o You must use correct information, dates and figures where appropriate. However, if some information is not available you can provide them, but they must realistically reflect the business.

Establish and document a marketing mix that will improve marketing outcomes of your business.

Use the following format to complete the above task, ensure you address each component of the marketing mix and formulate appropriate strategies for improving the marketing plan:

1. Introduction

2. Strategies and Tactics "How to get there” – A detailed analysis need to be done on the Marketing Mix

3. Recommendations and Conclusion

4. References

Assessment Part 2 – Presentation

Each group will have 15 minutes to present their Marketing Mix report and the findings and 5 minutes of question time. It will be 20 minutes in total with 5 minutes question time inclusive. The presentation must be done in a form of a PowerPoint. The students can use following in their PowerPointslides: charts, graphs, statistics, pictures, photos and videos.
