Design thinking also known as human-centered design, leads with empathy and designs with the community and considers human factors like taking into account human needs, perception, capacity and culture to design solutions in partnership with the communities that designers serve. The approach instead of focusing solely on one big idea, and making assumptions about the needs and capacities of developing communities allows to look at an existing issue in a company using creativity. The steps of the design-thinking process are to listen and empathize, understand experiences through research, repeatedly test the effectiveness, ask communities and people the right questions, focus on how to effectively consider these human factors when designing a solution, observe people and their behavior, prototype proposed solutions and implement the solution finally. It also gives an opportunity to take a look at problems from a completely different perspective.
