Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts a variety of popular services, including Dropbox, Airbnb, Netflix, and Reddit. After first understanding how a distributed system such as AWS works (https://aws.amazon.com/what-is-cloud-computing/, https://aws.amazon.com/hpc/), please complete the following assignment:

Your task for the week is to create a brief report on how AWS functions. You should imagine that you are presenting your findings as a research presentation to the rest of the class. Some of the components in your report should include:

• Explain how AWS works.

• Why do customers choose AWS over using their own computing services?

• What are some drawbacks of using AWS?

• Model the basic components of AWS.

• What are some of its most likely points of failure? How are these addressed?

• What do you believe the future of AWS will be? 

Your final submission should include a report on your findings (with relevant citations) along with a brief presentation (e.g., PowerPoint, Prezi) which would be oriented toward your classmates. Your presentation should include lecture slides, and a brief screencast of your presentation.

All writings must be formatted properly and must have a logical flow and transition between them. The final submission must be in APA format and contain a title page, table of contents, and reference list. You are encouraged to use a tool such as EndNote or Bibtex to assist with the citation process. Please use at least 5 external sources in your work.

Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly academic writing, current APA standards, and adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.
