Your task is to create an innovation or an improvement to a service, system, strategy or object. Either way, the aim of your innovation or improvement is to help physically/socially isolated individual(s) to interact with others in a meaningful way, and to feel more connected to a community. 

To do this: 

1. Examine physical/social isolation as a broad issue. What is it? How and why does it occur today? How does it effect or impact the lives of individual(s) or groups?

2. Identify a socially isolated group in your community. 

3. Research the background and the issues that contribute to your chosen group of individuals being socially disconnected and/or physically isolated. 

4. Consider the issues from the range of perspectives of the various people and institutions that are involved. 

5. Develop some ideas that will encourage such disconnected individuals to, for example: 

• Improve their opportunities for social interaction 

• Build strong and meaningful relationships 

• Be occupied or engaged in meaningful activities (these can be small and personal to the individual) 

• Use their expertise or resources to help others 

• Focus on improving their: confidence independence mental / psychological health physical health
