SCRUM meetings

Your team is employed by a hardware manufacturer to build a camera motion sensor system app for mobiles.

The system can detect motion and trigger an alarm. It uses a motion detector algorithm. The camera continually monitors the surrounding environment, records images of any movements in real-time, and sets triggers for unusual activities in the vicinity. The user will need to access the system remotely via their phone to check/modify settings, start and stop the monitoring and be able to watch the recorded videos on their phone. The initial pairing/authentication between the system and the user’s phone needs to be done via Bluetooth.

Your team will need to describe the step-by-step process of all SCRUM meetings required for developing this product in your report. (use Confluence for all documentation, notes, research & references, graphics, and any other materials you need/want to add to the final report.)

In preparation for your first SCRUM meeting, you will need to populate the product backlog.

• create (user) stories and tasks in Jira

• create your first sprint in Jira

SCRUM sprints

Your system is in production but requires some improvements as requested by the manufacturer:

To activate the system, the user must set a PIN code. Any alarm needs to be sent to the user’s phone when unusual activities are recorded and must be deactivated by re-entering the PIN code. The code can be reset via Bluetooth connection between phone and system.

Your team will need to use Agile methods (SCRUM sprints), write appropriate documentation, and use collaboration tools to demonstrate your application of DevOps knowledge. Describe your process in the report.

Containerisation and Docker/Container Cloud Services – Impact of technology trends

Focusing on these technology trends, describe and analyse the effect they have on the management of software development in your report. (use Confluence for all documentation, notes, research/references, graphics, and any other materials you need/want to add to the report.)

Presentation

Each student needs to record a 5min presentation about the content of the report.

You may use PowerPoint slides or some other form of visual aid for the presentation.

Your oral presentation is to be recorded and uploaded to YouTube, OneDrive, or some other sharing site.  You will then add the video link to the report cover sheet.

Group contribution

You will need to estimate your work contributes to the team and add it to the report cover sheet (in percentage).
