The primary goal for Essay 3 is to convince someone to share your view of a specific topic. The basic strategy we explore is to give our audience immediate access and familiarity to your subject so that they are compelled to do something. 

Your instructor expects a balanced and responsible exploration and discussion of your topic. Of course, you will have to take a stand on one side or the other and then provide direct support for your position. 

Here is a list of examples of argumentative positions (these are just examples, not topics you have to use) that are appropriate for an argumentation essay:

For this essay, you must use and correctly cite four different sources, three of which must be database articles (EBSCOhost Web, Opposing Viewpoints, etc.).  The paper and the research must be formatted and documented in APA style.  Other lessons this and previous weeks discuss how to document the research in APA style.  For this assignment you can use any combination of quotes or paraphrases.
