3. Effectiveness of the waste management service in a regional city depends on five aspects – Technology, Political Will, Supervision, Societal and Funding allocated. The technological aspect is influenced by the Waste Processing Facility and Processing Method/Equipment. The political aspect depends on availability of legislations for waste classification and the council’s priorities towards enforcing them.

The council ran a survey among city dwellers on how they rate the current state of affairs. Outcome of the survey is as follows.

A similar but less extensive survey was conducted in 2015 is the best estimate towards citizens’ perception on effectiveness of the Waste Treatment Facility performance.

 5% of the population was happy with all five aspects

 20% of the population was happy with any four of the aspects

 4% of the population was totally dissatisfied

 Due to difference in approach with current survey, assume the public were undecided on other states – ( i.e. 50% probability for WTP performance being effective and ineffective)

b. Based on the data given, explain the current stake-holder perception on effectiveness of Waste Treatment Service. In your opinion, explain with reasoning which among the five aspects need immediate attention to improve customer satisfaction

c. The city has a population of 10,000. Simulate a scenario of 10,000 cases (non-exhaustive, with 3% data missing), identify the percentage of citizens happy with five aspects, four aspects and totally dissatisfied. Make comparison with outcome of previous survey
