The closed loop transfer function of a control system is given by. C(s)R(s)=2(s−1)(s+2)(s+1) for a unit step input the output. A closed-loop transfer function in control theory is a mathematical expression (algorithm) describing the net result of the effects of a closed (feedback) loop on the input signal to the plant under control. To find the transfer function, first take the Laplace Transform of the differential equation (with zero initial conditions). Recall that differentiation in the time domain is equivalent to multiplication by "s" in the Laplace domain. The transfer function is then the ratio of output to input and is often called H(s).
