SECTION ONE
TASK 1 DISCUSS AND NEGOTIATING DIFFERING VIEWS IN A MEETING
Choose one of 3 scenarios:
Start-up company where key stakeholders have differing views about the best process for recruiting staff
Restaurant where chef and the owners and marketing staff (if you have enough people) have very different views on how best to update the menu
Board meeting for a manufacturing company where there are differing views about the urgency of becoming more sustainable
OVERVIEW AND INSTRUCTIONS
a) Once you have chosen one of the above scenarios – indicate which one below. Provide a short-written summary of which scenario you have chosen and why. Describe who will be involved in the video and what specifically their views are
b) It is a good idea to script your video. Remember it is a meeting so there should be at least 2 people talking and exchanging views.
c) You will need to submit your video on Moodle so research the best tool to use for recording and/ or compressing your video file so that is less than 20MB
Here plan and summarise your short video project
Having chosen one of the scenarios, expand on the details. Discuss the roles of the people who will appear in the video and detail what are their differing views. Identify different communication techniques and styles that will be used by the performers in the video. Finally, how the issue will be resolved and what kind of documentation will support the implementation of the resolution.
