PART 2 Project software design specifications and architectural requirements
The architectural requirements of a web application originate from the project description provided by the client and are documented in the project requirements. In this part you are going to design the website architectural including navigation structure and the user interface.
Task 1 Website architecture design specifications requirements
2.1 The architecture design specifications will require you to complete the following tasks:
a) Create a hierarchical navigation top-down structure also called a site map to ensure that users can access page content in a logical manner as designed by the navigation structure.
b) Create a UML interaction diagram to display user interaction with the system
c) Create wireframes of the pages indicating the navigation, page content and positioning.
2.2 Review the requirements documented in 1.6 and ensure that the design specification aligns with the user interface requirements. Modify as necessary until the design fits the requirements.
2.3 Produce a prototype from the design specifications produced in 2.1. Use a prototyping software tool such as InVision, Adobe Experience or a similar one.
2.4 Write an email to your manager seeking confirmation of the website architecture design and approval to continue to the next stage.
2.5 Review the database integration requirements provided in the scenario and documented in Pat 1 - 1.3.
a) Create an integration plan that outlines the steps involved in connecting to the database server, accessing the database, transferring data, querying the database and testing the database functionality.
b) Identify and document any technical upgrades that may be necessary to connect to the database server.
c) Obtain administrator password to the database and create the user credentials that would be used in the database connection. Provide a screenshot of the account created for database connection.
