Assessment 3: Critical Essay and Leadership Development Implications

Your final assessment is a critical essay in which you reflect on your leadership purpose. Articles from Session 8 can provide a good starting point to reflect on a broader and larger purpose you have as a leader. In critically evaluating the purpose of your leadership, you will need to look outside of your current organisational role, and reflect on your development as a leader in other life domains, thus incorporating material from self-assessments you complete throughout the unit. In your analysis, you should also use the other literature discussed throughout the unit.

Once you have analysed the purpose of your leadership and provided the evidence to support your arguments (i.e., why is this your leadership purpose), you should also discuss implications arising for your development as a leader. Identify the challenges you face in achieving your leadership purpose and how you plan to overcome these. Again, consider the broader domain of leadership, not just your current organisational position.
