CASE NOTES:

This spreadsheet contains data & a layout diagram from the previous MRI process. The diagram shows the process for operating one machine & related calculations.

The Hospital Director has carefully examined the process & has revised it using a Precedent Chart on the next spreadsheet tab. (See tabs at bottom of the spreadsheet.) Changes are based on a new MRI machine capablities & re-configuring the space occupied by the department. 

Changes include:

•Instead of separate changing rooms, patients will change attire in the MRI room itself. This will reduce walking times.

•Reduction in the total MRI scanning time process.

•Use of a centralized control room that will allow one technologist to intermittently operate both machines.

•Deletion of separate tasks for quality check, CD burns, coding & transmitting. (New machines handle these functions automatically with no additional tasks for the Technologists.)

•Streamlining of the room disinfecting process.

•Implementation of IPADs to streamline patient check in.

The Hospital Director is hoping process efficiency will increase with these changes while also allowing the department to handle a growing number of patients. 

Complete the line balancing diagram & data analysis with the new changes for the process using the Early Spring 2022 Forecasted Patient numbers. (Retrieve these figures from Case Part One.)  

Calculations & diagrams are for processing one patient using one MRI Machine. Calculations should be accomplished by setting up formulas within the spreadsheet.
