Dataset needed: jamovi Dataset - Lesson 13.omv

Assignment Prompt:

An industrial/organizational psychologist is investigating factors that affect job satisfaction. Job satisfaction can be measured with a series of questions that a person can answer using a scale of 1 to 5. After answering 5 questions, a person’s score on the measure can range from 5 to 25, with higher scores indicating greater satisfaction. This particular study involves people who commute to their jobs on a daily basis. A total of 80 volunteers are recruited for the study. The researcher focuses on workers who commute by personal vehicle and workers who take public transportation. Within those groups, the psychologist divides the workers into those with long commutes (more than 15 minutes) and those with short commutes (15 minutes or less). Use an alpha level of .01 to test all hypotheses in this Factorial ANOVA.

Use jamovi to find the answers to the items below:

The following are the testable hypotheses for the study:

Interaction:

Ha1: There is an interaction between mode of transportation and commute time.

H01: There is no interaction between mode of transportation and commute time.

Main Effect - Factor A:

Ha2: There is a main effect for mode of transportation.

H02: There is no main effect for mode of transportation.

Main Effect - Factor B:

Ha3: There is a main effect for commute time.

H03: There is no main effect for commute time.

1. What is the p-value for the interaction? (report to 3 decimal places) ______

2. What is your decision regarding H01 if alpha is .01? (Make sure you provide all conclusion statements!)

3. What is the p-value for Factor A (mode of transportation)? (report to 3 decimal places) ______

4. What is your decision regarding H02 if alpha is .01?  (Make sure you provide all conclusion statements!)

5. What is the p-value for Factor B (commute time)? (report to 3 decimal places) ______

6. What is your decision regarding H03 if alpha is .01?  (Make sure you provide all conclusion statements!)
